The Bank was formed by Royal Charter and Letters Patent dated 1st. October 1980.

The Banks Armorial bearings are dated 18th. November 1986.

To celebrate this famous proclamation and formation, of a genuine piece of Australian continental history, the Bank minted a set of Bank notes which were issued, dated, 1st. October 1980.

Because of the need for a higher value note in trade and due to the popularity of the First Mint Release , the Bank was petitioned to issue a Bank note to celebrate the forthcoming wedding of H.R.H. Prince Charles issued on 29th. July 1981.

All printing plates have been destroyed.

In 1982, 1985, 1990 and 2000 (Millennium Edition) the Bank issued sets of six coins as shown in the brochure. The coins have sold extremely quickly to collectors world wide as only 250 sets were minted of each edition.

In 1985 the Australian Government took legal action to close the Bank. All six Court cases were thrown out of Court with “no case to answer” at a cost of 22 million to the Australian taxpayer.

The Commonwealth also lost when they appealed these historic decisions as well. The only good to come out of the Court cases is the fact that exchange rates were established by the Court case and the coins were found to not be illegal in Australia.

In sympathy the people elected His Grace, The Most Noble, The Duke of Avram as the Member for Lyons in the Parliament of Tasmania.

These coins are highly prized.

If you are you interested in future Mint Releases of coins and notes please advise.

His Eminence is delighted that the Directors of the Bank have honoured him by including his letters patent of armorial bearings on the coins by engraving them in metal for posterity.

If you would like to have your grant of armorial bearings perpetuated in metal coins for posperity. His Eminence will be delighted to approach the board of the Bank with your request.
